To whom it may concern,
It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Nate McGraw in support of his application for a job position at your establishment. I met Nate shortly after co-founding Chicago C4D in 2008. He came to one of our first meetings, and he immediately took a very active role in the group. He took the initiative to start videotaping our meetings so they could be shared online with a wider audience. Once he had established a workflow, he expanded our capabilities to include live streaming and began to develop our web presence. Nate's reliability, generosity, and hard work have been essential ingredients in the growth and success of Chicago C4D.
Because of my experiences working with Nate, he was the first person I thought of when I took on an important animation project for Philips Healthcare that required compositing and editing work. My client's expectations were high, but the timeline for the project was painfully short. Nate jumped in right away, and helped to plan the shots and post effects to make the most of our resources. He cheerfully kept up with the numerous changes I threw at him as I created and fine tuned the animations. He made an extraordinary effort, including many late nights, to deliver a project that went above and beyond what I thought was possible in the time we had. Most importantly, our clients were thrilled with the results.
Nate will make a valuable addition to your organization, not just because of his excellent skills, but because of his attitude. He is a self-starter who adapts easily to the inevitable curveballs of a demanding production environment. He has an excellent work ethic, and consistently pushes himself to make each project better than the last. He is focused and graceful under pressure, and most importantly he is absolutely reliable. I give him my strongest recommendation.

In the spring of 2009 I had the pleasure of teaching a class that included Nathan McGraw among the students. The class was an advanced motion graphics course at the Columbia College TV Department.
Nathan was already an advanced student in using Adobe products, including After Effects and produced quite a remarkable number of video shorts for the class. His final project was a sophisticated crime/sci-fi short that showed an advanced knowledge of using After Effects as a special effects tool. He also was consistently good with all other projects in the class and I learned a few things from him!
Nathan is a very motivated young man who has definite ideas about how he will imple- ment what he has learned at our class. I have every confidence that he will excel in any further video or filmmaking opportunities he comes across in the future. I highly recom- mend him as a motion graphics artist.
